This was a tribal black light bodypaint design done representing the phoenix. I was inspired partially by the 4 spirits represented by the phoenix, dragon, tiger, and turtle and I hope to get all 4 done in this way.

And yes, Fushigi Yuugi helped edumacate me on the 4 spirits, Suzaku, Seiryuu, Genbu, and Byakko. :)

The photography wasn't by me, it was by my friend Shaun ([link]) but the painting was done by me at my studio.

This is really cool. I've been checking a bit of your gallery and I really like it. May I ask what kind of paint do you use for this art? I've always wanted to be bodypainted myself, and I was wondering about the materials you used here.

I actually used flourescent airbrush fabric paint shot through my airbrush. There's a very slim chance people could be allergic to it (or so I've been warned) but if you do an allergy test with it and have no problems, you should be fine. :)

If you're ever up in the Dallas, TX area, I'd be happy to paint you. :)

I live in Mexico, near the frontier with Texas, but I've never been to Dallas actually.
